Become a sponsor
NOK 300 a month. That's all.
For the price of a pair of cinema tickets you give a child in The Gambia daily meals, an education and a safer future — or life-saving medicines for the health centre.

What the sponsorship covers
As a school sponsor
- Free tuition at one of the ABC schools
- All school materials and books
- A school uniform
- A hot meal every school day
The school track lasts a full 9 years: three years of preschool, six of primary, three of lower secondary and three of senior secondary. In all our schools, we also always aim for eight out of ten pupils to be girls.
As a health sponsor
- Purchase of life-saving medicines
- Running the health centre in New Jeshwang
- Antenatal care and safe births
- Vaccines and malaria treatment
The health centre handles more than 10,000 patient visits a year — entirely free for the patients.
Tax deduction — fully automatic
Gifts to Butterfly Friends qualify for tax deduction in Norway.
If you provide your Norwegian national ID number, our accountant reports the amount directly to the tax authority, and the deduction appears automatically on your tax return. Questions about the reporting can be sent to kolbjorn@mskregnskap.no.
Join us in The Gambia
Twice a year we arrange a sponsor trip to The Gambia, where you can meet your sponsored child and see the schools and the health centre with your own eyes.

Other ways to contribute
Sponsorship is not the only route. Everything goes, in full, to the projects in The Gambia.
01Grasrotandelen
If you play with Norsk Tipping, register Butterfly Friends (org. no. 985 457 840) as your grassroots recipient.
02A gift instead of presents
Ask for a gift to The Gambia at birthdays, anniversaries and weddings.
03Memorial gifts and bequests
A gift that pays for schooling for many years to come.
04Schools and classes
Several Norwegian schools have raised money for The Gambia through Operasjon Dagsverk — or become sister schools with one of the ABC schools.
05Bazaars and markets
Profits from bazaars, flea markets and raffles are a mainstay of the operation.
06The second-hand shop
Shop — or donate things — at our shop in Vikersund.
