Projects
5 schools, one health centre — and the Sunflower Women
Everything Butterfly Friends runs in The Gambia is run by people who live there: Gambian teachers, midwives, cooks, caretakers and night staff. One principle applies everywhere: in all our schools we always aim for eight out of ten pupils to be girls.

Former schools
Schools we no longer run
Butterfly Friends built and ran these schools itself. Today the Gambian education authorities have taken over the day-to-day operations, carrying the schooling forward in the same spirit.
