Highest grade

The ninth-grade exam is administered nationwide, and the names of the top students in The Gambia—along with the names of their schools—are announced on the radio, TV, and in newspapers.
Two of Butterfly Friends’ students graduated with the highest grades.
This is the second year we’ve had ninth-grade exams! So that means we’re doing well, and our two wonderful girls, along with Anbjørg, coordinator Mr. Drammeh, and Principal Mr. Gaye, attended the ceremony at the Kairaba Hotel.
There, our two students each received a laptop and 1,000 kroner. It was a big deal and a great joy. When we returned to school, all the students were given a clear message: if you want to be the best, you have to study—plain and simple.
