Join us on a sponsorship trip to The Gambia!

Published October 7, 2021

We are organizing a mentor trip from Friday, February 18, to Friday, March 4, 2022. Please contact sponsor@butterflyfriends.no if you would like a program or to sign up.

P.S.: We actually wanted to organize a mentor trip this fall as well, but since the pandemic situation has been uncertain for so long, we’ve decided to cancel the trip—especially since those who had signed up also wanted to wait until February. If you’d like to see the planned program for the canceled orientation trip (the February trip will likely have similar content), you can find it here.

One less problem
Young people in The Gambia are just like young people here at home. They don’t think much about the consequences of their actions, especially if it means they have to go out of their way. That’s why it was necessary to install a new gate between the students’ dining hall and the neighboring building.

"You have to bend it while it's young..."
The old saying, “You have to bend it early to make a good hook,” doesn’t quite apply to what’s happening in our schools in The Gambia, but we’re seeing a welcome development. Before, we had to come from Norway and take care of almost everything, or hire professionals in The Gambia to provide services. We no longer need to do that.
