A Different Kind of Wedding
Published February 18, 2025
On Friday, January 31, we had the pleasure of attending the wedding of a former student at one of our schools. Her name is Aminata Sonko. What made the experience so special was not only that the entire ceremony took place outdoors after dark, but also the fact that the groom was not present. He was at an undisclosed location in Europe.
But why on earth would the groom want to have a wedding when he couldn’t be there himself? Well, the explanation is quite simple—he didn’t want to risk another man snatching her away before he was able to return. “Better to be safe than sorry!”
