New Water Tank Installed in Brikama
Published February 7, 2024
Although it might look that way in the first photo, Anbjørg hasn’t mounted a rocket engine on the roof of her car. Instead, it’s the new water tank she managed to transport so elegantly on the hour-long drive from the store to the school. That probably wouldn’t have worked in Norway, given the rules we have there, but here in Gambia, almost anything goes.
The water tank at the school in Brikama had sprung a leak and needed to be replaced, but throwing away the old one was never an option. Everything can be reused. The tank was cut in half, and the bottom half was placed in a corner of the “workshop.” There, it will serve as a storage container for sifted sand, so that we won’t have to drive out to get cement and sand every time a repair needs to be made to one of the floors.
