Planning Day for Teachers

The third Saturday in November was planning day for the teachers at the school in New Jeshwang. The fact that the planning was scheduled for a Saturday is quite different from Norway. It says something about the teachers—both that they’re willing to spend a day off on planning, and, not least, that they didn’t want the students to miss out on instruction. All they asked for in return was a meal during the day.
The most important thing they accomplished was making posters to decorate the walls of the classrooms. The posters are both decorative and useful as teaching aids.
