A Successful Annual Meeting for Butterfly Friends

Published April 22, 2023

The 2023 annual meeting, held at Krona Cafe in Vikersund, took place with nearly twenty people in attendance. Chairperson Anbjørg Juliussen welcomed everyone and also presented the annual report, which was approved without further questions or comments.

The annual report and financial statements were then presented and reviewed by accountant Kolbjørn Bjertnes from MSK Regnskapsservice. He noted that Butterfly Friends’ finances are currently in order, but that the organization’s ambitions to further improve health and education in The Gambia will necessarily require increased revenue in the coming years. He further stated that, once again, the government’s Fundraising Control Authority had no objections to Butterfly Friends’ financial statements. Everything was found to be in order.

This time, the board welcomed three new members: Ronny Stulen, Arne Johan Furseth, and Maria Grønland Andresen. A more detailed introduction of the new board—and, not least, the board’s plans for the future—will follow after Easter.

We’ll conclude by saying that after several challenging years for Butterfly Friends—both before and during the pandemic—optimism and faith in the future are finally back!
