Some happy and satisfied students in the “new” room

The photo on the left shows the other room that was renovated. There was already a large blackboard here, so we didn’t have to put two small ones together, and this room was also equipped with appropriate desks and chairs.

During the second half of January and throughout February, a great deal of maintenance work was carried out at the schools in New Jeshwang and Ebo Town. The latter now has two “new” and large classrooms, where there used to be two small classrooms in one of them. A partition wall was torn down (see the photos on the left), the walls and ceilings were painted in bright, fresh colors, and all desks and chairs were inspected and repaired as needed. Additional desks were also installed, so that all students can now sit facing the blackboard, rather than around desks as they did before, and the small classrooms downstairs were fitted with LED lights in the ceiling. This has been a fantastic upgrade for the students, and the teachers are thrilled to now have brighter classrooms and a blackboard twice as large.

At the school in New Jeshwang, the library has seen the biggest change. There was a problem there with the floor sagging, and all the cabinets and shelves were leaning so far inward that they were about to tip over. This has now been fixed, and in the process, we also went through everything on the shelves and in the cabinets. Anything that was usable was, of course, kept, but we got rid of a lot of stuff that was just collecting dust. Again, much to the delight of those who will be using the room.
