Nomination of a new board by the Nominating Committee, represented by Inger Johanne Grstad.
Anbjørg Juliussen, Vikersund, Founder 2003
As board chair, Anbjørg Juliussen. She is familiar with the school principals and the conditions in The Gambia. Together with the principals, she has helped develop the schools into some of the best in The Gambia. The high school in New Jeshwang ranks 4th out of The Gambia’s 123 high schools. At several of the schools, students are achieving top grades.
Kristin Vik, Oslo
Kristin Vik, Vice Chair
Former anesthesiology nurse with many extended stays in The Gambia. She has previously served on the board of Butterfly Friends and is familiar with BF’s work in both Norway and The Gambia.
Ellen Pandur, Spikkestad

Staff member at Butterfly Friends since 2003. A driving force and indispensable at the thrift store in Vikersund. Former board member.
Stig Jostein Jørstad, Vikersund.

Until recently, principal at Sigdal Middle School in Prestfoss. Works in refugee services. For the past 10 years, Sigdal Middle School has held an annual fundraiser to benefit BF. Every year, a student from the school has traveled on a sponsorship trip to The Gambia.
Since this board will take office on January 10, 2021, and serve until the regular annual meeting in April 2021, it is important to have a board that is familiar with conditions in both Norway and The Gambia. These candidates possess this knowledge.
