For those who don’t have access to the newspaper, here’s a brief summary of what he said: He’s asking for some peace and quiet so that students and staff can have the best possible school day. The vice chair’s impression is that recent media coverage has painted a very inaccurate picture of the organization’s operations, as a few individuals have been making a lot of noise. The new board has reached out to many sponsors, and we get the impression that the vast majority are satisfied. Many haven’t even been aware of the conflicts that have arisen. Others have been aware of them but do not recognize themselves in what has been reported in the media. It’s fine for individuals to choose to withdraw, but there’s no need to disparage the organization in the process. That doesn’t help anyone. The fact that so many have withdrawn recently means that nearly 400 students are at risk of losing their school spots. Unfortunately, it’s the sponsored children who suffer when we lose sponsors. That’s why we’re working hard to recruit new sponsors, and we hope you’ll help us with this effort. Help us help
