Winner of the recruitment campaign announced

As many of you have probably noticed, we’ve been running a recruitment campaign in 2024 to get more sponsors to support Butterfly Friends. The prize we offered—in addition to the joy of supporting poor children in The Gambia—was a free round-trip flight and accommodations worth a total of 20,000 Norwegian kroner, and, of course, a visit to all the schools and the health center.

There was a lot of excitement about who would walk away with the recruitment prize when we headed to the Arendal police station today to conduct the drawing. We had made an appointment with the acting police chief of the Agder Police District, and he was waiting for us at the agreed-upon time.

The drawing itself took place as follows: the names of everyone who had signed up as a sponsor and committed to at least one year of membership were placed in a bowl, and then the police chief himself conducted the drawing. The lucky winner was Monica Grønvold Vangen from Vikersund.
